I am Maisha Thaxter, widely recognized as Lyfe Golden, and I wear many hats: visionary, serial entrepreneur, and change-maker. I’m the proud Founder of NexGen, an organization rooted in my passion for innovation and empowerment. My journey has been defined by purpose, perseverance, and a commitment to making a lasting impact.
My journey has been defined by a deep passion for blending creativity with strategy, turning vision into impact. It began with a degree in Computer Graphics and Web Design, igniting my love for the fusion of technical expertise and artistic expression. To broaden my perspective and sharpen my leadership, I immersed myself in studies across Intercultural Communication, Business, Psychology, Marketing, and Human Values & Ethics. These disciplines have shaped my approach to storytelling, strategy, and transformative leadership.
Throughout my career, I’ve collaborated with nonprofits, city officials, commissioners, and state attorneys across California, Texas, and Maryland—driving meaningful change through innovative branding and communication. At 38, I took a bold step forward, founding Aggressive Expression Modeling Ad Agency LLC, a venture rooted in my commitment to pushing boundaries, creating opportunities, and redefining impactful messaging.
Among my proudest achievements is the creation of NexGen Elevation Hub—an initiative built to uplift inner-city young adults by equipping them with essential social and soft skills. NexGen stands as a testament to my unwavering dedication to self-discovery and personal growth, empowering future leaders to step into their full potential.
